The Ambiguity of Edges
The Ambiguity of Edges
The photo print, “The Ambiguity of Edges”, explores extending the composition beyond the boundary of the rectangular image which is so pervasive in photography. Rectangular sections of landscape are offset giving each an identity distinct from the background image. When the offsets blend with the background, their rectangular identity becomes less apparent or ambiguous and they start to become part of the background. When they extend beyond the background, their identity is stronger and more apparent.
